Is the Obama Administration Attempting to Deflect Attention From the Solyndra Scandal?

By Lance Winslow

Do you find it ironic that the Obama Administration is taking a leading role in investigating the Solyndra scandal? Obviously, taxpayers are livid about this, especially considering many of the main players that put that deal together are also big-time contributors to the Obama Administration, and President Barack Obama's reelection campaign. If that doesn't speak to the challenges we have in America with crony capitalism, I surely don't know what does. Now then, now that I have your attention that is, I'd like to discuss this for a moment if I might.

There was an interesting piece on MSNBC on October 28, 2011 titled; "White House to review Energy Department loans," by Chuck Todd, NBC Chief White House Correspondent, which stated; "White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley has ordered an independent review of Department of Energy loan guarantees in wake of the Solyndra scandal."

Okay so, here we have the Obama Administration investigating what, they are investigating themselves. That seems rather ridiculous, that's a lot like the global warming alarmist's committee in the EU investigating "climate gate" and then after a lengthy investigation claiming that there was no foul play. Indeed, I can tell you this; if it were a Republican Administration and they tried to pull that baloney, the media would have had a field day with it.

What is that funny quote, there's a bit of wisdom there; "that's like the fox guarding the henhouse." It is interesting to me, even fascinating that the Obama Administration would try to pull such an obvious maneuver as this, immediately taking charge of the investigation, when it looks like they themselves were involved. If they were involved, and you must remember this is not Chicago, then that is grounds for impeachment. This is serious stuff.

Of course, it seems everyone is distracted by the "occupy protests" and the removal of Gaddafi in Libya and somehow everyone forgot about it. Interesting how that happens. Will the administration try to find someone in their own group to hang on this to save the president? It's happened before, and Machiavellian style leadership predicts it, although I must say it's rather unfortunate considering that this is the United States of America, and we try to stand above the levels of corruption that happen in other nations.

Just because someone believes that reducing our carbon footprint is a good idea, doesn't mean they're allowed to take taxpayers money and funnel it to their friends. Crony capitalism, regardless of the excuse is not okay, and state-run capitalism is not free-market capitalism, and it's not what we stand for in the USA. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on...
